When Scheduling PatientsĪt the time you make your appointment, we will be asking the following: Wash HandsĪfter entering our clinic, everyone will be asked to wash their hands. We are requiring everyone entering our practice to wear some type of face-covering: medical mask, homemade mask, scarf, or bandana are all acceptable.Īll staff members will also wear a mask. We will ask any patient with respiratory symptoms to reschedule their appointment for 3 days or have a negative COVID-19 test. Patients will be asked to answer questions concerning their health and any symptoms relating to COVID-19.
If you are taking a fever-reducing medication such as ibuprofen (Advil) or acetaminophen (Tylenol), you will be asked to reschedule once the medication is clear from your system so we can be sure of an accurate temperature reading. Anyone with 99.5 degrees or higher will be asked to reschedule. Temperatures of all patients, staff, and doctors will be taken upon entry to the clinic. In order to ensure we are able to properly disinfect and adhere to social distancing guidelines set forth by our local authorities, urgent and emergency patients will be prioritized, and we will schedule fewer routine exams in a day. In response to Governor Abbott’s announcement on April 27, we are excited to announce that we will begin scheduling routine eye exams again beginning May 1, 2020.ĭuring this challenging time, we will be incorporating new protocols for anyone entering our clinic to ensure the safety of our patients.Īll of these steps have been put in place so we will be able to give good care for our patients while minimizing exposure.
